Training

Unfortunately, not all auto glass installers are certified to work in the industry.  There are numerous different types entities that offer certification, such as NGA and Sika. A Better Windshield only employs certified auto glass installers that are experienced in the auto glass industry. What does this mean to you? Simply put, the install is done right the first time. When it comes to your safety and the safety of your loved ones, insist on a certified technician.

Glass

While some companies still state that their is not a difference between OEM and aftermarket-we know better. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacture. This means that the glass meets the original specifications for safety and quality as the glass that your vehicle came with from the factory. Windshields may look simple, but they are actually made from two pieces of glass that are bent in a very precise way. If a windshield does not meet the exact specifications of the manufacturer, it will not fit precisely in your car. The best way to assure exact fit is to use a windshield produced from a fixture engineered to manufacturers specifications. OEM glass is your assurance that this has occurred. We use PPG brand glass. PPG Industries has been designing, improving, and manufacturing windshields for car manufacturers since windshields were invented. That's more that 100 years of experience you can count on. Aftermarket brands, like Safelite (SGC), are inferior and thus we refrain from using them. When you want your windshield to last and your loved ones protected, demand OEM glass.

Urethane

Unlike our competition, A Better Windshield only uses DOW Betaseal high viscosity urethane. This is the same glue that your vehicle came with from the factory. Due to the high quality of the glue, you will be able to safely drive your vehicle in an hour. Inferior glue can take up to 52 hours to cure. This, coupled with OEM glass, ensures that your vehicle is returned to its exact factory specifications.

Price Comparison

A Better Windshield believes in giving the customer the best value for the money. We shop the competition throughout the year. While we believe in only using original equipment glass, we make every attempt to keep the price at or below those competitors that use aftermarket brands. In order to do the job right, we will not reuse old parts/moldings. It is impossible to complete the work properly and safely if old parts are reused, like windshield moldings. While some shops will reuse molding in order to keep the price lower, we believe your safety and satisfaction is worth the additional cost. The reuse of old parts and molding violates the Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS).
